SUSTAINABILITY
Respect for the land shapes everything we do.
KEEPING IT REAL. 100% CERTIFIED SUSTAINABLE.
From the way we farm to the way we work together, sustainability is not a checklist—it’s a way of being. It’s how we ensure this place continues, for the people who tend it and for those who gather around its wines.
EARTH-FIRST WINEMAKING
In 2010, Cambria’s winery and vineyards became Certified California Sustainable through Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing (CCSW), reflecting a commitment to water and energy conservation, biodiversity, and thoughtful land management.
In 2011, we earned Sustainability in Practice (SIP) Certification—guided by the three principles of people, planet, and prosperity, each essential to a lasting vineyard.
These third-party certifications require us to measure, review, and refine our practices every year, ensuring we stay accountable to the land, our team, and the future of the region we call home.
Sustainable Winemaking Practices
Reduced Carbon Emissions
We continue to evolve our approach to carbon—measuring, reducing, and improving how we operate over time.
Water Conservation
Water is used judiciously, from sanitation protocols to barrel washing. We recycle water from the cellar and return it to the vineyards.
Reduce Waste
Waste is kept to a minimum—only 1% goes to the landfill, with the majority recycled, reused, or composted—moving steadily toward a zero-waste future.
Renewable Energy
Solar power from 2,000 rooftop panels supports 90% of our winery’s energy needs, reducing our reliance on outside sources.
People
Across the vineyard and cellar, our team brings more than 200 years of collective experience at Cambria. As a winery, we are committed to supporting our employees, as well as communities near and far. It’s why we partner with a variety of nonprofit organizations that share in our values of empowering women, protecting the environment, and making the world a more equitable place for all.
International Wineries for Climate Action (IWCA)
We are part of the IWCA. Founded by Jackson Family Wines and Familia Torres in 2018, this working group of wineries is committed to taking collective action to decarbonize the wine industry.
